AI room detection: the AI reads your room labels and maps every space to the eight Vastu zones.

From floor plan to Vastu score in five guided steps

01

Upload a plan

Use a clear JPG, PNG or WebP builder plan, hand sketch or architect drawing.

02

Set North

Use the visual compass and match it with the North direction on your plan.

03

Set the centre

Tap the built-up centre so the eight Vastu zones follow the home, not image margins.

04

Verify rooms

Run AI room detection, confirm each match, then add or adjust anything the AI missed.

05

Review results

See a score, priority findings and practical remedies, then save the free beta PDF.

The AI reads your room labels, maps each space to the eight Vastu zones and scores the plan instantly. Every detected room stays editable, so you always control the final reading.

Online Vastu analysis built around your actual floor plan

An online Vastu checker is most useful when it explains why a room receives a result. This tool places the centre of your home on the drawing, rotates the directional grid to the North you select and identifies the zone occupied by each verified room. It then compares that placement with commonly followed residential Vastu principles.

The result is not a generic horoscope or a score based only on plot direction. It is a room-by-room screening of the plan you upload. You can use it while comparing a new house plan, reviewing an apartment layout or preparing questions for an architect or Vastu consultant.

  • Orientation: North is set by you instead of being guessed from the image.
  • Brahmasthan: the centre is based on the home footprint, not the white margin around a drawing.
  • Room positions: detected labels remain editable before analysis.
  • Priorities: findings distinguish stronger concerns from lower-priority observations.
  • Remedies: the report suggests practical review points without claiming structural approval.

The eight Vastu zones used in the floor plan check

The checker divides the plan around its centre into eight directional sectors. The notes below summarise traditional residential preferences; they are guidance, not building-code or engineering rules.

DirectionCommon nameSpaces traditionally consideredWhat to verify
NorthUttaraLiving, study or open spaceRoom use and openness near the northern edge
North-eastIshanyaPooja, meditation or light open spaceToilets, heavy storage and room overlap
EastPurvaEntrance, living or studyEntrance position and daylight access
South-eastAgneyaKitchen or electrical utilityKitchen centre and cooking-area position
SouthDakshinaBedroom, stairs or storageExact function of rooms in the sector
South-westNairutyaMaster bedroom or heavy storagePrimary bedroom and toilet placement
WestPaschimaDining, bedroom or storageRoom boundaries crossing adjacent zones
North-westVayavyaGuest bedroom, toilet or utilityGuest and service-space locations

Important: a room can cross more than one sector, and different Vastu traditions may interpret borderline placements differently. Always verify the marker against the usable centre of the room rather than its printed label alone.

How to prepare a floor plan for accurate AI room detection

Use a clear plan

Export the original drawing when possible. If you photograph paper, hold the camera parallel to it and avoid glare, folds and shadows. Room names should remain readable after upload.

Confirm true North

Look for the architect’s North arrow or confirm orientation from the site survey. Road direction and the top of the page do not automatically indicate North.

Crop to the home

Keep the full external wall outline, balconies and entrances, but remove large title blocks or unrelated drawings. For an apartment, use the individual unit boundary.

Review every marker

AI text recognition can miss small, rotated or handwritten labels. Move each marker to the approximate centre of its room and add any missing space manually.

What your Vastu score means—and what it does not

The score is a comparison aid generated from the room types, directional zones and priorities encoded in this beta tool. Use it to locate the findings that deserve discussion; do not treat a one-point difference between two plans as proof that one home will produce better life outcomes.

A useful review starts with the highest-priority room findings, checks whether North and the plan centre were set correctly, and then considers whether a non-structural adjustment is realistic. If a result would require moving walls, plumbing, columns, stairs or openings, consult the relevant qualified professional before making changes.

AI Vastu floor plan checker FAQs

Is the AI Vastu floor plan checker free?

Yes. The checker is free during beta, with no card or subscription required. A social follow may be used to unlock the detailed PDF download.

How does the AI read rooms from my plan?

It looks for printed labels such as kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and pooja, then places detected spaces on the directional grid. You verify, add or move markers before the score is calculated.

How do I check Vastu for my house plan?

Upload a clear JPG, PNG or WebP plan, align the compass with true North, mark the centre of the home, verify at least three room markers and run the check. Review the priority findings before downloading the report.

Which rooms can it analyse?

It can evaluate commonly labelled residential spaces including entrances, kitchens, bedrooms, living and dining rooms, pooja rooms, toilets, staircases and utility areas.

What image gives the best result?

Use a straight, high-resolution JPG, PNG or WebP with readable room labels, visible external walls and a known North direction. Avoid angled photographs, heavy shadows and oversized title blocks.

Can I correct a room the AI detected incorrectly?

Yes. All room markers can be verified and adjusted. You can also add a room manually when its label is abbreviated, handwritten or absent.

Can I check an apartment or existing house?

Yes. Use the boundary of your individual apartment or home to establish its centre, and exclude unrelated common areas from the uploaded plan.

Does the report replace an architect or Vastu consultant?

No. It is an informational planning aid. It does not certify structural safety, legal compliance or professional Vastu approval.
